As those who have received the grace, mercy, and kindness of God in Jesus Christ, we feel compelled to use our energy, time and resources for the good of others and the glory of God (Matthew 5:16). We strive to find ways to share the love of Christ in real and tangible ways - especially with those who have particular needs and challenges. In a world where there is so much pain, suffering, and loneliness, this is one of the small ways in which we desire to make the Gospel beautiful and believable. Below you will find some of the organizations that we have partnered with as we strive to serve the cause of Christ in Burlington.
Next Door Space: Provides opportunities for community service and interaction in the Aldershot neighborhood of Burlington. Fellowship members participate in Saturday morning breakfasts and we also host a number of events at Next Door, such as our Watchmen breakfasts.
Safe Families: A ministry to needy families in the Halton region. Fellowship provides a lot of support, including finances, and many of our members serve as volunteers. We mentor young moms and young people, provide resources and assistance in a lot of areas, all with the intent of living out and sharing the love of Jesus Christ. (Proverbs 19:17) You can find more info here: https://safefamiliescanada.com/find-a-chapter/the-network/launching-fall-2021-hamilton-halton/
Friendship Club: The Friendship Group is for those with developmental challenges. The purpose of the Friendship Group is to share God’s love to those in our community with cognitive impairments and to come together as an active part of God's family. This is achieved through music and singing, Bible lessons, arts and crafts, games, snacks and fellowship. The Friendship Group meets on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:00pm in our fellowship hall. (Isaiah 41:10)
